To celebrate the life of Ewan Stevenson, who left us way too soon in 2015 we created these Awards in memory of his talent as an actor and musician.
Three of the awards are named after a role in which Ewan tread the boards of the Criterion
Miranda (Meg Lucas) declares her love for Captain Tempest (Dan Fahey). Her horrified father, Prospero (Ewan Stevenson) shows his disgust – The Return of the Forbidden Planet.
The Prospero Award – Best Character Development
(Prospero – Return to the Forbidden Planet)
Awarded to the actor for best development of their character and for bringing this character alive on stage.
The Wyrd Duke Felment Award – Exceptional Contribution
(Wyrd Duke Felment – Wyrd Sisters)
Awarded to the cast member who has put in additional effort and contribution to the show as a whole and been supportive of cast and crew.
The Wild Bill Award – Director’s Choice
(Wild Bill – Calamity Jane)
Awarded to the director’s choice of cast and crew
The Newan Award – Outstanding Newcomer
Awarded to the cast member who is the outstanding newcomer.
The Grand Ewan
At the end of the year the committee votes on the winner of the Grand Ewan and the recipient is awarded this at the Season Launch February of the following year.
